Animal Crossing Experiences
Population Growing
I don’t have as much experience with this one compared to the others but I’ve always found it kind of charming, this was villagers probably at their weirdest and I like all the side stuff you can do in it like the NES games and the recycling center and the little stuff like the sports games.
I do have a lot of familiarity with the soundtrack because I used to use one of those hourly 24 hour extension thingies to help myself study. 2 am and 5 Pm are probably my favorite songs!
I have no clue why, but when I was younger I was really into a villager from e+ called Pusuke. He managed to make the gap over and got renamed as Hopkins during pocket camp!

Wild World
This is pretty much the game I played the most as a kid alongside city folk.
Did you know there’s a way to clone bells in wild world? I used to do it with a cardboard box and I don’t recall the rest… I wonder if there’s still a tutorial on it online?
I thought putting in the villager into smash bros as pretty fun. I used to make up named for them, like the blue haired one with the sleepy eyes was Kevin and the girl with the shiny eyes and flower shirt was Megan (like from that one Nick show.) The one with the no 1 shirt was named Leif as in like "new leaf". Even though a lot of people memed him as like a killer I thought he was nice but just bad at showing his expressions.
I used to always use whatever method I could to get a nookington’s town early… I’m surprised I never got seeded! I still had images of one of my old towns up on one of my old tumblr blogs, maybe one day I might go redownload it and upload it to here too.

city folk
It's wild world but with actual holidays instead of made up stuff like la di da day! (I miss them though.)
I kinda liked the special episodes in regards to how like nearly everyone who went to the city in city folk had their lives ruined by it and working hard and hustling and how the game also reflects this by making it so that everything in Gracie Gracie’s is expensive. Why did the player need a credit card.
I always found the tanning thing to be a bit silly in terms of “if you want a different skin color you need to wait until the summer and it’s not permanent” and
I always had to use my mii design in order to get my actual skin color until New Horizons and Pocket Camp.

new horizons
New Horizons is kind of a mixed bag for me because I never played New Leaf so the transition to becoming like, the island representative and having way more control over my town (island) was a lot to take in at first! It was pretty fun initially when there wasn’t anything to do during the pandemic, but I got bored with it pretty quickly because the villagers don’t really have much interesting to say anymore. I remember when I used to watch population growing footage that they got really mean after a while, that kept up in wild world, but in new horizons that’s not really there anymore because I don’t even talk to them enough because their dialogue is bland.
If you like having a nice decorated kind of place and just like having cute animals, then this one’s pretty good.
I played Pocket Camp for a bit too but that game’s shutting down with an offline version. Never played happy home designer because I was never much into the furniture designing thing of the series. To keep things interesting on my new NH save I’ve been letting villagers move out whenever they say they want to, which is how Raymond was both my first villager to move in and out.
new leaf
I don’t have that much experience with new leaf personally but I used to watch people showcase dream villages before the shutdown, stuff like hacked villages and scary ones like Aika village!
With my new refurbished 3DS I’ve been replaying new horizons and New Leaf side by side and I like new leaf because it still has that old feeling of being like, a new person who just moved into town and has to meet and befriend the villagers versus new horizons being mostly just like island simulator decoration land. Not having to craft all my tools and them being normal is probably a plus in my book too.
