The cohost tribute page recreation. I don’t really have anywhere else I post outside of here and PF under the same name, so I guess in the meantime I’m gonna keep posting until the shut down and the recreation will replace the links I have for neocities. Shame to see it go.
🌱New Pinned🌱:
April
Former Tumblr User who has no interest in returning to the site anytime soon. I like taking deep dives into the internet archive sometimes to find random things and then linking them to other spots for fun. I draw and write sometimes too.
Main interest right now is Pokemon, occasionally I drift to other fandoms but then rebound back. My other fandoms range to Kirby, Sonic, and Mega Man. I'm not really good at playing them outside of a few select games though.
February Posts
Former Pinned
Hello, I’m from tumblr and reposting my old works. Current interests has been getting back into Pokémon and previous was FF14. I’m also crossposting to pillowfort but currently I need to figure out how cohost works too.
Pokemon Gifs (Crosspost)
Collection of gifs I made while playing pokemon, reuploaded from my tumblr.
Interest List:
I’m procrastinating sleep at the moment to talk about my hobbies. Maybe all of them, who knows! I’m dumping them all because I occasionally swing fandoms.
- Kirby
- Indie Games (Cave Story)
- Megaman (Classic, Battle Network, X, Megamix/Ariga, Archie... might as well just say all of them.)
- Final Fantasy (Classics, 14)
- Drawing
- reading (anything I can get my hands on, manga, classics, fics)
- Writing
- Music (I like to listen to stuff YouTube gives me in the recommendations)
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Pokemon
- Anime (I watch what’s on streaming services mostly, shonen, shoujo)
- Web Archives/ Webcore/ Geocities
I used tumblthree to grab some files and I completely forgot that if you don’t set the thing to not pick up reblog posts it totally gets bloated on the hard drive. Also it’s very hard to sort and find the things you actually want. I’m just scrolling and selecting photos in a group, deleting, then doing it again til I can find the one image I want and move it to another folder to be sorted again til I have a use for it.
Dang, I completely overslept. I have got to get these last few FF14 alts through ARR so I can get the FFXV event items. Not the car though, there’s no way I’m willing to go through that for 8 characters. Might do it for the hair though, idk.
Hey, do you like webcomics?
Have you uh. Ever wanted to look through a dead website’s archive of webcomics? I have the link for the smackjeeves archives here since I used to frequent that site before it got shutdown for a webtoons clone. One link is to the internet archives versions. It’s a trip. Sprite comics galore! You know, that sort of thing.

Avatar/ Original Character Creator List (Crosspost)
Despite being an artist, sometimes I have no motivation to draw which makes it difficult when I want to show off a character. To get past this, I've made a list of avatar creators that I'm reuploading here. I attempted to avoid AI with these ones but problem is that sometimes they end up being added in or something which is especially annoying.

To Do
Ok, so my tumblr backups didn’t finish yet but I found an older version of them sitting on my hard drive so what I’ll do is start seeing if I can just copy paste the HTML files over after I rest since cohost allows for HTML editing. I still have no clue what I’ll post here in particular though, maybe my fics and articles? Not that I had many of those actually posted, I have a bad habit of saying I’ll do things and then never doing them.
Reupload: Geocities Archive Search Project
Reuploaded from my tumblr and crossposted to pillowfort.
From my Neocities project comes another project in the form of websites and gifs that I have bookmarked and kept. Today is a list of links that range from fanfiction to HTML tutorials.
(Note: This was reworked into the Findings Page here on this site!)
I used to be very
much into this sanrio gacha called Hello Sweet Days for a while, even
going to screenshot a bunch of the fashion items before realizing
that there was probably a database dedicated to that already. Can't
forget the wiki link either
though.

Chocomimi Archives
On another note, I found something pretty valuable for me personally. Younger me always used to read manga at their school library with a few standouts being the Pokémon mangas (adventures, diamond and pearl), kingdom hearts, peach fuzz, a few comics like babymouse, and others I’ve likely forgot. One of them I always liked reading but could never find in many spots was ChocoMimi.
Unfortunately the publisher for the manga stopped past volume 6, so finding copies of it anywhere is pretty much not a given unless I order it online. Lucky for me, I was checking out volume 5 on the internet archive and went “huh. I wonder if there’s others up?” And found Volumes 1-10. They’re only in Japanese though but I’m glad to see that I can at least visually see what I missed.

A former list of art interests (2023)
Reuploading from tumblr. I know that Cohost has an image limit so I can't post as many example images from the original blog posts so I'll have to pick the best ones out of the franchise samples.
Basically what I want to try emulating the most out of the artists I’ve seen regarding some franchises I’ve been a fan of
Kirby
Puyo Puyo (Fever and afterwards Era)
Sonic
Mario (Mostly the RPG games)
Earthbound
Calvin and Hobbes
Pokemon (Games plus Special (MATO's art specifically) and other manga)
Sailor Moon (Original anime, Manga art, not so much the reboot)
ChocoMimi manga
Kingdom Hearts Manga.
I’ll likely have
to update this with images so I can understand what I’m talking
about for cross reference.
Who made the Puyo Puyo Artwork? (Reupload)
Crossposted from tumblr. Less image examples due to Cohost's
limit.
Originally I was just going to go find some examples of
artwork I wanted to emulate but there’s this weird overlap between
two artists who have been credited for Puyo Puyo artworks on Sonic
Team: Yuji Uekawa, known for his Sonic Artwork (guy who made almost
all official art from adventure onwards)
But then while attempting to look further into it I was informed that he was merely an art director and not actually the guy who drew everything. That was someone named Hideyuki Takenami, who does appear in the credits for a bunch of Puyo Puyo related games.
There was also a few speculated connections to some other franchises I’d never heard of, like Pop n Music and Rankuga kids, but considering that one piece of art from that defunct game in the examples above I’m just gonna go with my gut and say Hideyuki Takenami is the official artist for Puyo Puyo (at least in the fever era? Maybe his art style evolved for later games.) No clue if he also does the gacha game art or not since the gacha has a lot of units and that'd be a lot for one guy.
Now in the meantime I gotta go figure out who made character artwork for pop n music.
MATO art samples (pokespe)
One of my favorite artists I'd love to be able to draw like someday is MATO, who originally worked on Pokespe. I think the art adds a lot to why I find the original two arcs of Pokespe to be so charming (minus the dangerous parts of course.)
Mass Attack Mockup
Remember when mass attack has that one RPG fighting system? I made a mockup based on that.
I used to be a sprite artist once but now all my knowledge vanished. Relearning the art of making sprite sheets one piece at a time. The MS paint recolor trick still works, but there’s gotta be a better way to do it than recoloring them one at a time.
(Note: Link to sprite art gallery on neocities.)
Pokemon Reposts
Drawings of Pokemon that I'm reposting from twitter. Just remembered I have photos saved there that I never reposted anywhere else so I need to get those too.
(Note: Link to digital art gallery on neocities.)
Reposts from my art blog. Two drawings of my Pokemon party members from an emerald run from a few years ago. I was supposed to do the whole party but then I stopped after these two lol
My Art References
While tumblr is still up in the meantime, I'm linking to my art references because there were a lot of useful tutorials on there that I was compiling on tumblr through my reference tag. Best for me to grab them now in case things go awry. I'll also link some of the websites I had in my sidebar too. Some of the tools might end up leading to NSFW areas as a heads up because of artistic nudity, so be on the side of caution. I haven't checked them all myself and just compiled what tumblr artists found useful.

- Posespace.com/posetool

Finally finished parsing through all my stuff again, realized that there's almost 100+ posts I'd need to repost, looking at the time and deciding... You know what, I'll worry about that another day. Gonna go watch some shows or something now.
Midnight Musings
I haven’t had the motivation or the ability to draw as much lately and I have no clue how I’d get it back either. The things I want to draw don’t come out with my drawing ability and it frustrates me into not drawing. Idk how to get past this hurdle without the usual “just get better” because then I get into a cycle of thinking that nothing I make is good. I miss when I was a kid and I’d just draw whatever came to mind.
Woke up today thinking of learning how to use blender. I’ve never touched 3D programs outside of one unity class years ago (and I forgot that one too.) My brain gives me strange tasks.
I'm starting to realize I have no clue how the read more works on cohost and I'm best off just leaving links to my fics rather than trying to reformat them to be here.
Pokemon trainer from a leafgreen clear I had a few years ago which inspired me to start writing fics about them. I only have the one in the series done right now but for the most part the most I've done with them is make piccrews, haha.
Was reminded of this post by scrolling through my media again for files I missed
Pokémon X and Y have turned 10 years old and my friend group
is having an existential crisis over considering
if Wii/DS games are retro or not now
I missed these two from my Twitter Reupload session. I vividly remember the GS space world leaks and how everyone kind of lost their mind over the “new” pokemon. I should go back to just making small pokemon drawings again, it was fun.
For a while, I used to be into trying to draw horses. Keyword here is try, because they all came out cryptic and weird looking. Here's a sample. One day I'll get back to learning how to draw them.
Art style observations: My default is small gremlin creature but I want to learn how to draw more realistic proportions. I have my reference blog but I never utilized it well.
I'm great at drawing little guys though, check it out!
(Note: Link to digital art gallery on neocities.)
I once drew a ton of maplestory monsters in my art style and then compiled them into a collage.
(Note: Link to digital art gallery on neocities.)
Concept art of some waddle dee enemies from a kirby fangame I never made because I have no coding ability. They were weather based.
(Note: You already know what’s going here.)
The new Pokémon presents left me pleasantly surprised. People were completely dead set on Johto or Unova and turns out we got neither. My X replay wasn’t in vain.
Tumblr has decided to add in an AI option (YUCK.) where chances are they won't follow the opt out thing and they'll also be scraping all of the long old dead blogs for their work too. EDIT: turns out, they already started scraping everyone's stuff. They only added in the opt out button today. Sheesh.
I found these gifs sitting on my hard drive, I think they're all from the same hack since the player is the same in all of them. Now, it would be great if I remembered which one it was but I've played so many in the course of these 2 years that they all kind of blend in my head.
I’ve found out how to make recolors through Libresprite again because I want to get back into sprite editing! But something about this color swap is strange to me. I think its because these colors are so unlike the actual two.
(Note: Link to sprite art page. This was in reference to the color swapped Red and Green. In terms of colors, Red’s green color came from Venusaur. Neat fact!)
I’m doing bug hunting in Gen 1 for the first time and absolutely fascinated by both the process to do certain glitches and also the sheer absurdity of said processes. I wonder what it must’ve been like on old forums in those days where you get told a step by step process by the original poster and then do it on your own game.
The Missingno hunt is on now. Since I have the default Red name, there’s a chance I’ll end up with mewtwo instead. If you just went swimming without triggering the old man bit it loads whatever area you were in last. So for me, I ended up with a lot of cinnabar mansion Pokémon first.
Don't really feel like making a new addition on this saga. I got Missingno but I didn't realize it was kinda like a glass cannon so I rerolled the save back and beat the game legitimately with Mew. I think this run was more for the sake of witnessing the bugs with my own eyes versus watching them on youtube videos for years.
Nothing so far in
years has made me feel like I was getting older until I looked in the
mirror today and said "damn, my posture looks like shit now. Is
my shoulder supposed to bend like that?"
Switched out my
smaller keyboard for the old wired classic. If my dominant hand
shoulder returns to being normal after a few days I'll have
pinpointed the problem.
(Note: Being made to look up jobs on a laptop every single day is likely more of a contributing factor to my upper body problems than my gaming hobby. It sucks to be unemployed and stuck with a person who hovers you every day to do nothing but job hunting.)
March Posts
Started watching dungeon meshi on Netflix and it’s incredibly funny how the English dub goes “delicious in dungeon” and most people decide to collectively ignore that title.
March 2nd: Today I had a dream that Pokémon masters added a Halloween unit that was super busted but everyone was mad because it was just Blue/Green/Rival just wearing a sheet with holes over his head to be a ghost. I think at one point he took the sheet off and wore it like a cloak for the rest of the dream. That’s all I remember. Not sure if that’s stranger than the last one.
The other Pokémon related dream I’ve had in a while was also kind of weird. I was playing through a copy of Red and whenever I’d beat the game I’d end up back at the start like in a loop. I kept getting weird hints too like there was someone else playing alongside me. It wasn’t anything scary, just more surreal. Maybe I’ll write something for it.
March 3rd: Went to an IRL hangout yesterday with a bunch of people who I mostly knew through discord and while I got my ability to draw again after months of art block I feel like I need to get more normal hobbies. I kinda talked way too much about Pokémon with another fellow that was into it but that’s because no one else in my direct life cares as much about it like me. Unfortunately I’ve been cursed since birth to like Pokémon since my date of birth aligns with Pokémon Day. And it kind of went into a direction where I felt like I ended up alienating people around me so uh. Gotta find more topics to talk about. Maybe I’ll start listening to podcasts or something.
Breaking the art block is good but now I need to figure out a way to break the writing block too. Unfortunately I’m kind of bad with staying consistent and my writing for years has mostly consisted of making bullet points around ideas and waiting for inspiration rather than trying to make something, and then the best times I get inspired are when I’m in areas where I’m not supposed to be writing. Unlucky.
Still thinking about that conversation I had a few days ago where someone was like their favorite Pokémon character is Steven and I immediately said “Stone?” And they went “yeah, are there any other Stevens I should be aware of” and I didn’t come up with a response.
(He is unaware of other Stevens)
Me, for the past few days: I need to find stuff to do that isn’t
Pokémon related
Also me: Proceeds to reread a bunch of old
manga, considers rereading a bunch of old theories for a fic series
I’m considering, the art and fics I’ve been wanting to make are
all Pokémon related…
This isn’t helping.
Considering making a dreamwidth just to cover my bases in terms of trying out other sites. If I had to lose anything, I’d be fine with getting rid of collages and screenshot stuff that’d end up being lost, but the one thing I want to keep around is my writing even if I’m not the best at staying consistent. Does that make sense? Probably not, I’ve been awake all night. I’d keep the same name too just to stay consistent.
The most useful ability I have is the ability to aggressively search for things if I really want to find the end result. Unfortunately it activates at random and never when I want it to for things that are important, like work. The reason why it even activated today? I saw a piece of fanart that I liked but the tumblr source was dead and it originally came from Pixiv and all their other socials were deleted so I had to look through people’s reblog chains until I eventually ended up in Pinterest (ie, the Wild West of art theft.) It was a miserable experience.
Today I was wondering if I should start handtaking notes again because most of my stuff is stored on Notion and the wifi went out so the answer is “yeah, you probably should.”
How did I completely forget the notion AI thing, did my brain block that out? I need to transfer to obsidian when the Wi-Fi comes back.
Getting used to obsidian by loading it with all sorts of plugins and then systematically taking off the ones I don’t like. Moving everything from notion also necessitates I resort everything too. It’s… a learning curve.
There’s some incredible shitpost potential to powerscaling stuff that the creators had no intention of powerscaling in mind. Example in mind I keep thinking about.
Presumably Level 100 or higher Generation 2 Charizard vs Generation 4 power creep (Some rocks)
So getting gift cards as presents seemed like a good idea right until I started getting emails for the steam spring sale and oops. Money’s gone. As long as no one asks, I should probably be fine. In the meantime, I’m going to go get hopelessly obsessed with making big numbers in cookie clicker again.
Playing Minecraft for the first time as a person who’s only watched other people play it (not the MYCT, mostly my friends.) First thing that it did was drop me off in the desert and all I did was wandering around looking for anything that I could possibly use for a crafting table. I waited in a dirt hut for the night to end so I didn’t die. Now I’m considering loading it with mods like I’m gonna do with Terraria.
March 21st
TPCi deciding to show up and snipe relic castle with a DMCA is not what I was expecting today but I guess that’s what’s happening. I’m worried about PokeCommunity now.
March 23rd
Was reading through the Pokespe XY arc and saw Green with his cape again. I ended up being reminded of that time in the Pokeani where Gary wore his cloak. I wonder if it was just total coincidence between mediums where they both decided that the gen 1 rival would look cool wearing this (the yellow arc started in 1998 and the 1st episode that Gary showed up wearing this was 1999). I think he looked very cool when he showed up in XY, so it worked on me.
Current breakdown of
my “new” social media accounts and what I post there:
PF:
journal entries and media log things. Occasional WIPs and incomplete
fics.
cohost: stray thoughts that randomly come to mind.
DW:
Possibly just a secondary place to host completed fics, idk what I’m
doing there yet.
Current Obsidian Prog
Ended up creating a new vault to contain previous fandom works that had a lot of words but never actually went anywhere... I should figure out a way to get back into writing for those again. I'm currently figuring out the longform project thing which has made me be forced to actually sort out my notes into a coherent form.
I’ve begun playing animal crossing new leaf again. It’s been so long and I’ve gotten so used to new horizons having breakable tools that not having them break feels like a new thing to me.
Pictured above: me after finishing sorting out all of my notes into long form projects on obsidian and going “now what?”
(Note: Maybe I should go back to using Obsidian or maybe juggle multiple apps instead of just a single one?)
March 28th:
First iteration of the kanto Trio Chart
Attempting to make a chart of the gen 1 trio designs and variants for drawing reference by using things like official artwork/merchandise, mangas, and in game sprites. Some anecdotes on this:
I never noticed that Red's Gen 1 hat design has variants of the button thing until looking at all of them on Bulbapedia and seeing ones that weren't just the leaf.
In the Pocket Monsters manga, Fire Red is considered a separate character from Red (Isamu Akai). It's a gag manga though, so it's not serious.
Ash/Satoshi and Ritchie/Hiroshi shouldn't really be on the chart since one's design changes so much and the other wasn't seen for years but they did start off as Red variants.
Gen 1 rival has had the most consistent designs not counting his hair color changing and his hair in the RGB sprites, which gets corrected in yellow.
The Unused Gen 1 girl design and Leaf have the least amount of variants currently.
I probably missed a design because I kept finding more Red hat variations the longer I looked on Bulbapedia so I had to stop myself and post the current design chart before I ended up with a hat chart.
Pokémon TV shutting down made me realize it was the only place I could watch origins for free because the free YouTube upload got taken down. Boo. I still like rewatching the OVA sometimes.
I like how this spring I was like “I’m gonna do so much digital cleanup of my files and stuff” and then proceeded to accidentally find even more files of things I haven’t seen in years simply because I remembered the flash drives. My high school self had some serious hoarding problems.
Goddamn, I haven’t seen some of this in years. School files, random games, music, written stuff… my poor external hard drive is gonna kill me when I retransfer everything.
I wonder how much faster the process of backing up this list of bookmarked fics I found while cleaning up my bookmarks would go if ff.net didn’t decide to use cloudflare and I could figure out how to use the cache list for fanficfare on Calibre reader… I’m really gonna have to do this manually?

April Posts
Now that I’ve had all my notes sorted in obsidian, it should be easy for me to start writing out my pokemon fics but I have that problem where I’ve got too many ideas and zero priority on what to start fixing first. Picture of Bill sort of related since I’ve been rereading Pokespe for one of the fics and kind of forgot how Blue dragged Bill to Cerise Island and got his house destroyed. Early Pokespe has such a different vibe compared to later arcs, like the one where they dedicate an entire chapter to Pika babysitting Caterpie.
My problem with a media log/backlog is less of keeping track of what I’ve watched and finished but more on “so uh, how do I complete this if I keep finding more things to do instead of returning to the older stuff?” Which is easily apparent when it comes to the games because sometimes for months on end I go “nah, I’m just gonna play nothing but rom hacks and neglect my backlog.” Oops.
One of my rules for my smaller series of one shots/drabbles is that the minimum word count for the drabble has to be 100 words before I consider if the idea’s worth pursuing or not. Sometimes I get a lot more than 100, other times it’s like grinding water from a rock. Guess that means the idea wasn’t really that good.
Following up on my fanfic lamenting and subsequent learning, it turns out that fanfictiondownloder does have a way to download multiple fics at once, it just has to be a list of fics inputted through a txt file and also you still have to manually be there to get through the cache. That’s way better than the way I was doing it before though!
I’m never doing this again what kind of stories did I leave bookmarked and recced where multiple of them have like 100+ chapters that’s absolutely bonkers 😭
I got my little tea bread cakes from the last time I went on a driving trip downtown and quite frankly out of everything in my university experience it’s those little things that I’ve missed the most. The red bean cakes are my favorite flavour but sometimes I’m too impatient and end up eating it too early and I just get the flavor of the alcohol packet instead...
3DS servers are going kaput tomorrow. End of an era, to be honest. There goes wonder trading and all sorts of other stuff until Pretendo starts working. It’s so vague as to stuff like if the QR codes for animal crossing and Pokémon Bank servers are still working after but for how long until the plugs on those get pulled too? Not to mention with FBI shutting down is it still somewhat easy to hack a 3DS? I got a friend of mine to do it for 5 bucks on mine but idk the process anymore if my 3DS bricks or if I drop it again because I’m clumsy.
(Post 3DS Shutdowns—April 8th)
Attempting to watch the XY anime of Pokémon as a part of my year long project retrospective on generation 6 and I’m starting to think 20+ episodes in that this isn’t a show meant for binge watching and more of a background show that you’d put on to distract a kid or something because uh. I’m certainly not feeling it. There’s something about this one that I’d probably have enjoyed more if I watched it as it aired but I didn’t do now I’m watching it and considering using a filler guide because it’s way too formulaic and quite frankly knowing that the conclusion to all of this “hype“ buildup is “BLAST BURN” kind of makes sitting through these early episodes feel lesser. I don’t care in particular for any of the characters so far and power scaling and shipping are my least favorite activities on the planet. It’s probably my nostalgia saying that I’d enjoy marathoning the older seasons more and I don’t even mean Indigo League, I mean Diamond and Pearl since those were the last ones I really watched before dropping it during Unova. Also the fact that I’ve got so many other shows to watch and this one is like…actively making me want to watch other shows instead of watching it.
Kinda crazy how I posted this months ago and I still haven’t made any progress and meanwhile a show that should be worse to go through filler wise I’ve nearly finished.
Clipart Collection Links
I had these bookmarked for a bit but never got around to posting it, here's some links to the internet archives of old clip art from Microsoft word and other collections. Credits to the people who put these up.

This one also comes with a searchable version on the archives.
All of them minus the 1st three are ISO files so I suggest using something like WinCDEmu or Virtual CloneDrive in case you don't have a disc reader. (That's how I had to check them anyways...)

Ukelele Pichu.
April Follow Up on Minecraft:
Monthly Update: Most of my experience in this world has been me mostly boating around admiring nature as I use a boat to go from island to island, occasionally parking the boat to go mine wood. I finally managed to find some sheep today and make a bed in a dirt hut, only to discover that my dirt cave house is sitting on top of some cobblestone. Knowing my luck though, if I dig straight down I'll end up in lava.
April follow up on “Guess I’m pokemon posting now”:
Whatever. I've fully accepted and pivoted back to pokemon as my main fandom now. I don't know why I was so stubborn about that, I was practically raised on this franchise. Current fic ideas are being juggled between this RSE adaption that then pivots into a "16 years later" type of story, a villain roleswap story based on Pokespe, and this one shitpost story that's about a nonexistent type and people in universe hating the idea of it.

Today’s writing mood is: what do I hate more, framing dialogue or writing fight scenes?
Doing some observations on my Pokemon fic drafts. I’ve noted now that in my works that I’ve published or nearly completed that I tend to avoid actually writing out the Pokemon fights, which is something I should work on. The nature of battles do tend to follow a structure of “trainer tells pokemon to do something” in the fics I’ve read, which makes sense, the nature of writing a fic means that they aren’t turn based anymore, but I also just recall most battle attempts I’ve written to be “dodge! Do this instead.” I guess that’s why I tended to focus more on the human relationships.

Somethinh I like about Pokémon as a franchise is that there’s something for everyone in all sorts of different aspects that’s not just the games
You want to see cute slice of life stuff, there’s concierge
You
want cool shonen stuff, there’s
pokespe and Diamond pearl
adventure and all sorts of other mangas
You want to do math,
there’s competitive
You want to be a Pokémon, there’s
mystery dungeon
You want to break your hand, there’s
ranger
Lots of anime episodes and movies and spin-offs that
might feature one of your favorites (sorry porygon)
I just like
that. It’s not like something where it’s completely homogenized
Okay, I really meed to go to bed, the keys are getting blurry agajn.
New Pokémon fic idea I probably won’t ever get to but still daydreamed about: Galar sports tournament where they play football (soccer) and things proceed like the plot of the game. It would play out like Inazuma eleven. Minus the super powered humans, it’d just be the Pokémon.
Me at the dollar store: Is it really qualified to be called one if everything has a base price of 1.25 and higher?
Started refilling my Tomodachi life island up again since doing the transfers wiped my save. I made a full list of characters to add in at a later time and I thought it’d be small but looking at it now the number is up to 70. I didn’t even realize I had that many characters even with me trying to cut superfluous picks.

I’m attempting to reroute my life to be more goal oriented instead of this wishy washy era of me being constantly shuffled around after graduation. Might cut off my social media stuff again since that was probably making me feel worse. I tried using the pomodoro method to do some cleaning and it made me so tired I almost passed out. Definitely a symptom of the constant overstimulation. Made this chart in Zinnia of the stuff I wanted to do including my drawing Bingo board… which I probably need to adjust since I can’t play FF14 anymore because of my trashy PC not fitting dawntrail’s specs. It did last me all the way through college so it did me well. It’s off to me being annoying with the steam games and pokemon fangames and other stuff I have on it until it eventually goes kaput. I kept on my old daily goals so I didn’t forget them but let’s see how this goes in a month or two.
Random fic idea of the day (maybe I should start a collection of these): a fanfic poking at the structure of the Pokémon universe and the typical game story beats but written in the form of an academic essay.
Ah, yes, the three B’s: Bakugan, Beyblade, B-daman.
Using EVA memes in order to keep myself from logging back into twitter.
Definitely feels like I’m using Site A as a more “report style” site based on media logs and general life updates and this site is used as “jokepost containment zone.” Problem I had with some other sites is the fact that things got picked up even if they weren’t tagged.
You’d think that my graduation would finally mean that I’d know what I’m doing but it’s definitely one of those things where I think I need to feel it kick in or something.
The problem is with having so many fics centric on canon divergences and also alternative names for canon characters it gets like. Incredibly hard to keep track of everyone and also toe the line between keeping them in character even though the very reasonable easy solution would just be labeling everyone as OCs based on the characters. Then again, writing out a fic summary with the premise of “I gave this guy ghost powers and shit mentors” is a pretty funny way to justify why things are so bizarre.
The current WIP list is based on whatever I happen to be interested in coming up with ideas for, which makes it actually very difficult to finish things since the ideas come to me like a kudzu plant rather than having any coherent sort of plot. The exceptions to this are the one shots because those are finished by me in normally one sitting.
Looking through my phone screenshots for a thing I swore I save and it’s kinda funny how looking through the years I’d get really into a fandom’s content and then completely forget I had any interest in it.
One day I’ll return to playing FF14 but I think my lack of a main and being an alt-holic killed the experience way faster than it probably should’ve gone. I might be the slowest player ever for posting about stuff I didn’t hit but then also simultaneously I got into the game by watching streamers do MSQ…

August's end. Neocities Update (July 31st) My last post I mentioned how I was fixing up my old neocities
site, it’ll be 2 years old next month. Everything seems to be going
well with actual templates and flex boxes and stuff but the moment I
go off course with my own HTML something gets busted and I go back to
W3schools to check what I broke. I’m hoping to find a nice template
to host my writing stuff and then I can officially let the site lie
dormant again until I get a new sudden wave of inspiration to rehaul
everything.
Actually now that I’ve figured out
how the client push works for neocities and I’ve been doing
offscreen editing for new pages I really don’t want to go back to
the drag and drop format whatsoever because it makes folders quite
difficult. The hardest part is probably figuring out the path but
that can be alleviated by using the copy path thingie? I don’t know
how to describe it, coding isn’t my forte. Here’s a link to a tutorial to that:
https://nenrikido.neocities.org/blog/post/deploy-site/
Need to figure out how to make an RSS
feed. I have the template thing and xml down I think, but is there a
way to do it faster automatically or is it by hand every time? I’m
also confused to like how to put down the update dates if I didn’t
keep track of that before. Also the amount of minutes in between. Would making it a month be
too much server wise? I don’t update that often outside of long
periodic bursts like how I spent all of summer basically retooling my
website from an RP description thing to the way that it is currently.
Important factor to note: sometimes
when art block is kicking in it is necessary to utilize tools to
convey what you mean even if it is through MS paint. Important factor #2: sometimes they look virtually
indistinguishable from jokeposts. Doing a thing where I’m too lazy to
find a better way to upload photos from my phone and tablet so I’m
saving them to cohost drafts instead where I will then redownload
them to my computer. Dropbox would’ve been easier. Or maybe….
Whatever Catbox is? Idk.
Going about that thing where I feel
too scatterbrained and have way too many things open that I’m not
supposed to do so I’m putting my filter back on again. That oughta
work as a stopgap, or maybe my brain will fill out the time gap with
something else it comes up with (it tends to do that.)

Photo collage from my animal crossing save from 2020 to 2023. The
other person in photos is my sibling who bought me the game and my
switch mini. I’m gonna reset it soon since I did a recent revisit
and it’s kind of a mess.
This is how it feels in my mind being an artist and writer featuring
Fleur and Norwin Dragalia lost.
One of my only 3DS years in summary. Don’t have one for the switch
because I only logged like 35 hours on it last year because I was on
campus and was really into FF14… (no name or mii because I don’t
associate with the old name anymore.)
Sailor Moon Cosmos the movie came out pretty recently on streaming so
I watched it (unfortunately all I have on hand are images of the 90s
anime and everything else I’ve looked up has just been promo
images.) As a faithful adaption of the manga it does just that like
the rest of its Crystal companions so if you want to see the manga
scenes animated, then it’s pretty good! …Yeah, that’s kind of
it.
Well, maybe one thing. As much as filler and monster of the week
stuff is nowadays pretty much the anathema to any adaption of any
manga ever it does wonders to add to characters who basically get
like maybe 1 manga chapter dedicated to them before dying, which
isn’t an exclusive issue for this adaption since it was pretty much
the same way in the manga, but it really did make me go “man, I
wish they snuck in at least one reference to the phone booth.”
The latest animal crossing island has been set up and. Raymond was my
first camper.

Today’s thing: trying to categorize villagers I once had in wild
world with the only verifiable source being a journal from like 2011
that was actively falling apart in my hands the longer I read through
it.
Alright everyone get on one side
Never realized how much everything really got internetified until I’m
over here looking for a primary care physician online because it’s
been like, two years since I’ve actually been to a doctor and even
longer since I’ve been to a hospital (last time I was there was
when my appendix burst.) Before, I guess you’d have to rely on
like, word of mouth or just randomly walking in…? When’s the last
time I had a blood test, sheesh…
I’m conflicted still on like, deleting my tumblr or twitter tbh. Rapid fire thoughts coming out and
typing as I go everything I want to get archived in some kind of
format. Since I’m not participating in NaNo (because of the AI thing and
general writing burnout), I’m thinking about that like mile long
draft I once made for it and how I never followed up on it. I think maybe writing for the sake of fulfilling a word count and
having like, word crunch is probably not the best way to write
anything like fulfilling because what if you just start adding fluff
words to fulfill the gap Like I’m not really sure speedrunning the writing process is the
way to go in hindsight. Another thing on me that I feel like
is less a personality thing and more of a psychological “unaddressed
childhood memory problem” thing: breakfast is my least favorite
meal of the day. I kinda feel like the culture surrounding (north american)
breakfast is “grains, egg, fruit” and normally I only get to the
grains portion because as a kid whenever I’d make anything else I’d
get guilt tripped for only spending time to make breakfast when it’s
like, you don’t know how to cook an egg? And to top it off,
normally I’d do this before I went to school because I had to wait
for the bus so instead of just cooking breakfast, this person would
take a massive chunk out of my breakfast to eat it. So instead, this person probably hoped their intent was “my
child will make breakfast for me instead of being an inconsiderate
ungrateful child” but instead the end result for me has been “I’m
going to be called the worst person on earth if I fry an egg to put
on top of rice and I can’t cook a full meal for two people (and
this person eats way more) when I’m hungry and tired because that
takes too much effort (to cook two meals instead of one) and I’m on
a time crunch so I guess I’ll just eat granola bars.” And that
habit has been engrained to me all the way to college. The other
factor is the sheer monotony of eating nothing but the same thing of
oatmeal and eggs and apples and oatmeal and eggs and apples on an
infinite loop, but then I got guilt tripped over eating dinner food
as well. The one trip I took to the Bahamas having like stew mackerel
and sausage with peppers and onions for breakfast really got to me on
this like bizarre cultural insistence on eating only one thing. Note:
this could’ve also been because it was a brunch bar. If steak and eggs and broccoli is an ihop order, why the heck am I
getting called a weirdo when I warm up leftover chicken to eat.
(Note: wasn’t this a castlesuperbeast bit? Am I just doing a Pat
thing?) For my neocities site revamp (volume
2), I’m still working on tracking down fanfics I’ve written and
OG stories from high school. Most of what I have is drafts and
outlines. I’m also considering adding like a photo album since I have
years of photos just sitting on my phone. I’ll call it like, a
scrapbook section or something?
Cohost seems to be giving me a lot of 503s. Maybe because I’m
sending a lot as like unfiltered thoughts.
Doctors who get like only a few
reviews and all are five stars makes sense because it’s not like
people switch doctors like resturaunts Usually they stick to one so therefore theyre the best one because
they haven’t like, checked with anyone else.
The HTML spoiler bar truly became my best friend for the neocities
site revamp. Finally, a way to hide my thoughts instead of the page
just being flooded! I need to apply it more often.
Following up on the doctor thing and
it’s kinda wild that Google street view and geoguesser like exist
in a format where you can go anywhere in the world in terms of photos
and recognize locations and know exactly where you are. Or in my
case, looking up locations I’ve been to and seeing past photos and
being like “I kinda remember that being there…” To be honest, I think I saw a post like about a guy who knew a
bunch of locations in Rome because of playing ACreed and another guy
who memorized the locations of popular places in Tokyo because of
Persona 5 and Yakuza.
No clue how to make an RSS feed but I’ll consider it for my
neocities instead of having like the projects page. Or maybe I can
put it there instead? Idk. Spitballing ideas.
I think a lot of my internet observation types of things, the thing
that sticks out to me the most is like how it’s impossible to tell
tone and emotion through text at least personally for me and then
whenever I write something it can be interpreted in all sorts of
radically different means in spite of me writing things mostly as a
flow of mind and hoping that I’m neutral. But without tone
indicators or emojis or exclamations it’s hard to tell I guess???
But I don’t really use those so then I use stuff like ellipses to
indicate I’m trailing off but then people read that as like being
sad or something? 😫 it’s basically very hard for me to write and
make sure it comes off in a way that is seen as not like inflammatory
or a fire starter which is hard because like. Phrasing. And words.
And my erratic typing style.
I know for a fact there’s probably a certain type of like… html
idk… snubbing is too harsh but judgement doesn’t fit either (?),
er, maybe critical ness…(?) that could potentially come from the
fact that a lot of my neocities site is built off templates primarily
and therefore could be said to be like, incredibly unoriginal.
Originality of the HTML isn’t really what I’m in for because even
with the templates I still find ways to cause bricking moments for
the pages. It’s more for me to have a better way to write about
stuff and have them in a way that’s more legible and good looking
rather than me having to fight every single part of the process,
which I still have to do even with templates. It’s why I even have
the credits page, because none of the site would’ve been possible
if not for me building from what others have built for me to use and
then basically make like Frankenstein pages of code. Seriously, my
source code’s a mess.
I’ve lived past a lot of things in terms of digital tangibility:
like site revamps, sites that shut down as a whole, flash games as a
whole, multiple gacha servers, multiple franchises which people would
think would last forever… the things that seem like they’d be
around longer seem to vanish when least expected. Honestly the entire
thing’s reminding me of smackjeeves minus the site vanishing
because of the hands of an apathetic corporation deciding to shoot
the thing they bought so they could prop up their own thing. It’s
probably coming to mind because I was just writing about that one for
neocities.
Welp. I’ve emptied out my drafts and aside from my side cohost
still having some pokemon masters posts to make there’s nothing
left on my end of things to post personally. I’m gonna call it for
tonight.
Looking over my now basically deserted notion dashboard and I haven’t
touched obsidian in months I think I have a problem of being
overwhelmed by things that have a lot of user features and layouts
and things to download and then end up with something I like to call
“feature bloat” where I more or less have so many things
downloaded and added that I just end up not doing anything with any
of them because they seemed useful before and now are just too much.
I think I’m a person who needs less options and more simple things
these days.
Another issue being the AI integration thing where it’s more or
less I used to use notion for like writing and art ideas and I don’t
want notion having every single piece or idea I’ve ever had so I
think I need to like severely reduce the amount of stuff I had on
there and make it simpler for myself in terms of how I used it in
college as a note taking program and trying to basically like make it
an “everything app” turned it into a nothing app for me.
Read through the Gurren Lagaan manga. Even though it’s been a while
since I’ve seen the actual anime, I still remembered a lot of the
music and voice acting for scenes. It was pretty good.
I miss tamatown.... I don't even know where my v 4.5 is but I miss
this place.
Wonder how much stress in my life is contributed by a single person
unable to get off my ass for being unemployed. I just graduated, I’m
not just gonna magically conjure up a job for my degree when we’re
in a hiring freeze. Venting is not enough nor are my free projects, I
need a large amount of money donated to my bank account pronto!!
Thinking in terms of the data export since that’s coming up in a
few weeks… what exactly will be in it? All our posts and reposts?
Images included? Comments by the user? Mostly speculative on my end.
Could also just be like tumblr’s and have everything in it…
9.17.24 I’m unsure of what exactly is going to be in the data export in
regards to things like images or comments so I’ll
note those down as well.
I’ve been compiling notes for my personal archive project on
libreoffice and then I just thought “oh, does libreoffice have an
HTML making feature like Microsoft office did?”
And that's the last post I made before I put down the spirit halloween banner.

August Posts
September (The
final month before cohost’s shutdown)
On
one hand, I’d feel less tempted to actually login to the websites
if I didn’t have accounts, but on the other, there’s years of
memories and fanart archived mostly on my tumblr through reblog
chains and posts that were kinda funny. It’s more or less the
culture I don’t want to go back to though. Twitter feels like I
gotta step lightly so I don’t end up seeing people hop up onto a
wave of hatred and it’s always like an “us vs them” scenario
where everyone is always pissed off for some reason or other and I
don’t want to deal with pissed off people which is why I never
posted opinions. Tumblr is violently between the opposite direction
of toxic positivity and constant guilt trips and chiding like making
fandom into politics. I’ve left though, and it’s not like anyone
came looking for me in particular so I guess it’s better I’m
forgotten. Aside from that, automattic’s behavior was wildly
inappropriate in terms of banning users and like transphobia and
racism and generally having a stank vibe and I heard they’re moving
to Wordpress now. Last thing and the reason I left was the generative
AI thing.
With two weeks left until
shutdown I consider making more progress for my neocities original
posts recreation and begin looking for a good way to sort through
posts. Chronological order won’t really fit with the template I
found that vaguely resembles neocities, so I’m considering making
it go by topic. Secondarily I find that my first post was around 6
months ago which aligns with me in March deciding to leave tumblr.
I’ve posted more on my Pokémon side page than my main, which will
make recreating that page specifically more annoying. In total I’ve
got an estimated 35 pages to parse through in regards to “did I
already post that on neocities” and “should I repost that” in
terms of that time I started doing sprite ripping and therefore the
sprite doesn’t belong to me.
The answer is
“yes”, which is going to save me a lot of grief later on.
Feel like cohost definitely gave me a slightly better perspective in terms of the way I created my own posts and curated the things I wanted to see and like, in terms of social media, being on this site and pillowfort definitely made me drop in terms of spending all my time absorbed onto the concept of "making posts" and being online in general and then filtering out things so I could have more time that wasn't dedicated to being online but like...it's hard to put into words. I'm really gonna miss this place.
The most important part about cohost aside from changing the way I felt about posts and online engagement and my time management was that I could also post freely and it wouldn’t be picked up by anyone who’s looking at the thing unless they specifically go to my page. Like I couldn’t stand tumblr after a while because even when I’d leave posts untagged they’d still end up within the main tags of the thing I was talking about.
Changed the headers from spirit Halloween. That was kind of funny for a bit and then I thought it’s not really that funny anymore, so I changed it to a more appropriate image.
Kinda fun when I was looking at the ending scenes for Kirby super star (not ultra), a lot of the endings seem to have Kirby leaving during the sunset, minus Milky Way wishes, which finally has him go home and rest during the day. Sleep tight, bud.
Etc (Media Logs)
(I’m
nearly finished with the filler!)
What's next:
The Oranberry page recreation is still a WIP. In terms of posting online I'm moving to pillowfort and continuing on neocities.
